Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre (MCEC)

International Congress of Psychology 2028 (ICP2028) will be held at Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) in South Wharf, Naarm (Melbourne), Victoria. MCEC is located on the banks of the Birrarung / Yarra River and is connected to hotels, restaurants, public transport, South Wharf Promenade, DFO South Wharf and the central city.

ICP2028 will primarily use Convention Centre spaces to support plenary sessions, concurrent scientific sessions, workshops, poster and exhibition activity, registration, catering, speaker preparation, media and Congress operations. Spaces will include the Plenary theatre precinct, Melbourne Room, Main Foyer, Level 2 foyer areas and nearby meeting rooms, with final room allocations to be confirmed through the program.

Address and Access

Delegates should primarily access ICP2028 via the Convention Centre entrance at 1 Convention Centre Place, South Wharf VIC 3006, located between Pan Pacific Melbourne and DFO South Wharf. This entrance is expected to provide the main access point for Convention Centre sessions, registration, foyers and delegate movement. The Exhibition Centre entrance at 2 Clarendon Street, South Wharf VIC 3006 may be used only where specifically directed for exhibition, operational or wayfinding purposes. Delegates should check their session, registration or onsite instructions for the most appropriate entrance.

ATMs: Cashless convenience

MCEC is a cash-free zone. Need cash? ATMs are located on the concourse near Door 4.

Charging stations

Stay connected and productive at charging stations conveniently placed throughout the venue. Find them at Shed Café, Plenary Café, Goldfields Café + Bar, and behind the Sovereign Room staircase and Door 17 staircase.

Cloak room

Are you looking to store your coat, pram, or luggage? Visit the Customer Service desk at Convention Centre Place, and the staff will happily assist you.

Parents room

For parents and children, the Parent Rooms provide a comfortable and private space equipped for changing or feeding. Located in both the Convention and Exhibition Centres.

Prayer room

Visit prayer rooms located in Melbourne Convention Centre.

There will be a dedicated premium free Wi-Fi network for the duration of ICP2028.

Getting here

MCEC is easy to access by public transport, taxi, rideshare, bicycle, walking and car. For ICP2028, delegates should primarily use the Convention Centre entrance at 1 Convention Centre Place, South Wharf VIC 3006.

Parking

Wilson Parking offers flexible rates and secure underground parking at the Exhibition Centre (A).

It also has accessible parking with lift access up to Door 1, 6 and 10 in the Exhibition Centre.

Accessibility

MCEC is designed to support accessible movement through the venue and surrounding precinct. For ICP2028, delegates should primarily use the Convention Centre entrance at 1 Convention Centre Place, unless otherwise advised in onsite instructions. Accessible pathways, lifts and visitor services are available throughout the venue. MCEC provides accessible parking, wheelchair-accessible toilets, ambulant toilets, a Changing Places facility for visitors with high support needs, parent rooms, prayer rooms, cloakroom services, venue Wi-Fi, charging stations and mobility aid charging points for electric wheelchairs and scooters. The Changing Places facility includes enhanced support features such as an adult changing table, ceiling hoist and accessible toilet layout. Designated wheelchair seating arrangements, companion seating where available, and hearing assistance options may be available in selected theatres and event spaces, subject to final room setup and program requirements. Guide dogs and service animals are permitted. Delegates with access, mobility, sensory, hearing, parenting, prayer room or other support requirements should contact the Congress Secretariat before travelling so support can be planned with MCEC and clearly reflected in onsite information.
